Before the demolition of the downtown Anthony's Fish Grotto, I was fortunate to be able to paint this scene. For fifty years Anthony's was located on San Diego's downtown waterfront. I took out-of-town visitors there for lunch often, as did many people.

Since 1997, I have been working full time as a fine art professional of oil painting in the plein air genre. Taking my easel and paints to the outdoors, setting up and painting what I see. My style has evolved from a more rendering approach to painting with less detail and more brush stroke. Traveling to other cities, states and countries has "broadened my horizon." Different light, landscapes, architecture and culture bring new excitement to my work. Exhibiting in galleries, museums and art clubs have played a important role in my career.
