Belmont Park in Mission Beach, San Diego, has so much character and a lot of life these days with an amazing makeover. The Giant Dipper is the nation's old running wooden rollercoaster. It is run to ride with such beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean while you are up high. This painting was done on location in oils and is very colorful.
Since 1997, I have been working full time as a fine art professional of oil painting in the plein air genre. Taking my easel and paints to the outdoors, setting up and painting what I see. My style has evolved from a more rendering approach to painting with less detail and more brush stroke. Traveling to other cities, states and countries has "broadened my horizon."
