This plein air painting depicts the Horton Plaza Park as viewed from Broadway Street in downtown San Diego. In the foreground is the Broadway Fountain with beautiful dome and the background orange building is the Balboa Theater, also with a beautiful dome. This is right at the edge of the historic Gaslamp Quarter.
About Paul Strahm
Since 1997, I have been working full time as a fine art professional of oil painting in the plein air genre. Taking my easel and paints to the outdoors, setting up and painting what I see. My style has evolved from a more rendering approach to painting with less detail and more brush stroke. Traveling to other cities, states and countries has "broadened my horizon."
