Historic Point Loma Lighthouse sits atop what once was an island in what once was the San Diego Harbor. Now Point Loma is a manmade penninsula and the harbor enclosed to form a bay. Also, there was a time when entry onto the lighthouse property was free until President Bill Clinton decided to have all national parks charge a fee to enter. Things do change.
