This painting was done on location in scenic Ouray, Colorado facing Abram Mountain from the intersection of Main Street/US 550 and 7th Avenue on a gorgeous September day. This gorgeous mountain town is known as Switzerland of America. I suppose that is more evident in winter!
Since 1997, I have been working full time as a fine art professional of oil painting in the plein air genre. Taking my easel and paints to the outdoors, setting up and painting what I see. My style has evolved from a more rendering approach to painting with less detail and more brush stroke. Traveling to other cities, states and countries has "broadened my horizon." Different light, landscapes, architecture and culture bring new excitement to my work. Exhibiting in galleries, museums and art clubs have played a important role in my career.
