Surfing USA is a painting done on location from a pier looking down at the local surfers looking to catch the perfect wave. This painting is somewhat abstract and really catches the essence of surfing in southern California. A light blue and earth-toned impressionistic painting.
Since 1997, I have been working full time as a fine art professional of oil painting in the plein air genre. Taking my easel and paints to the outdoors, setting up and painting what I see. My style has evolved from a more rendering approach to painting with less detail and more brush stroke. Traveling to other cities, states and countries has "broadened my horizon." Different light, landscapes, architecture and culture bring new excitement to my work. Exhibiting in galleries, museums and art clubs have played a important role in my career.
