Old Town Market is in the heart of Old Town, San Diego, California, across the street from the Immaculate Conception Church. This is one in a series of three paintings I did on location when the market first opened. This colorful, happy scene is reminiscent of one's visit to this area of San Diego, in the historic Old Town State Park.
About Paul Strahm
Since 1997, I have been working full time as a fine art professional of oil painting in the plein air genre. Taking my easel and paints to the outdoors, setting up and painting what I see. My style has evolved from a more rendering approach to painting with less detail and more brush stroke. Traveling to other cities, states and countries has "broadened my horizon." Different light, landscapes, architecture and culture bring new excitement to my work. Exhibiting in galleries, museums and art clubs have played a important role in my career.
