This painting was done on location in Enniscorthy Ireland during Europe's largest plein air competition, Art in the Open. I was thrilled to win the runner up award for this piece. Enniscorthy is in Wexford County and is a worthwile place to visit in Ireland.
Since 1997, I have been working full time as a fine art professional of oil painting in the plein air genre. Taking my easel and paints to the outdoors, setting up and painting what I see. My style has evolved from a more rendering approach to painting with less detail and more brush stroke. Traveling to other cities, states and countries has "broadened my horizon." Different light, landscapes, architecture and culture bring new excitement to my work. Exhibiting in galleries, museums and art clubs have played a important role in my career.
