Iconic scene from the late 90's in Pacific Beach, San Diego, California. The fun orange structure is the Mission 2 Coffeehouse. It building still exists but the ownership, colors and name of the restaurant has changed many times over the years. Currently it is Woody's Breakfast and Burgers. In the background is the Surfer Beach Hotel. This painting was done on location from the beach.

Since 1997, I have been working full time as a fine art professional of oil painting in the plein air genre. Taking my easel and paints to the outdoors, setting up and painting what I see. My style has evolved from a more rendering approach to painting with less detail and more brush stroke. Traveling to other cities, states and countries has "broadened my horizon." Different light, landscapes, architecture and culture bring new excitement to my work. Exhibiting in galleries, museums and art clubs have played a important role in my career.
