Carmel Mission Basilica, formerly known as San Carlos Borromeo de Carmelo, was the 2nd California Mission founded and is where the shrine is for Saint Junipero Serra. Junipero Serra founded the first nine Spanish Missions of Alta California. Truly a beautiful structure. Look for other paintings of this same Mission in my Collection of California Missions.
Since 1997, I have been working full time as a fine art professional of oil painting in the plein air genre. Taking my easel and paints to the outdoors, setting up and painting what I see.
